Just to keep the navigation menu to the left short, I
have this page to provide links to all my times out in
public. These outings are always educational. When
something significant occurs or I learn something
important (good or bad), I'll be writing about it here
or in one of my outings pages. Following are my outings
in chronological order with the last one last.

Halloween
1999
Starting with Oct 28th, I made it out 100% en fem.
This was my first time. This links to my pics and
walks you through several days of being out in
public. At the end of the writings is a "lessons
learned" from being out in public.

June
2000
My next times out.
-
August
2000
I managed to make it out again. It was only two
days, but I did manage to get some neat hi-res
pictures and I learned a bit more stuff.
-
October
2000
I had a day to explode and decided to go ahead. This
was a coming out day. Halloween 2000 will be another
story.

Halloween
2000
Halloween a holiday? I don't think so; try holiweek
*giggle* Monday was "gofer" mommy duty, but I managed
to go shopping with her for an electric razor. I'm
still out on that story. The rest of the week was
luncheons with friends and coworkers, each with
Davita.

November 2000 - See
How Do I Help The Situation
for the pictures.
I went to San Francisco for training, leaving me the
afternoons free. I went alone and none of my
classmates stayed in my hotel. This gave me plenty of
time to dress and go out. However, with my sore feet
and a goof in the weather leaving me with outfits not
warm enough, I only dressed twice. The first time I
wore my warmest outfit. The second time, I needed to
change my plans and so I dressed down. Believe it or
not, I wore my boy jeans and tennies and one of my
techie tees. Over the tee, I put my souvenir
sweater shirt. I actually looked like the other female
tourists *smile* Hummm so there were crossdressing
female tourists wearing men's clothes? *giggle* After
dressed, I went to Chinatown, visited a few banks
looking for the new Virginia quarters, a distant
shopping center, back to the Nordstrom's with the
escalator, and then to Macy's. From Macy's I stopped
back at the hotel and sat in the lobby sipping wine.
I talked with a couple hubbies that were playing a
game. When one of the wives showed, we cracked a
couple "men jokes". They were heading out and I
hopped across the street to Lori's Diner. All of the
San Francisco pictures were placed in my discussion
on the do's and don'ts after
being caught. By the way, I have new hair so
ppppllllleeeaaassseeeee, how about some feedback on
it? How about feedback on my discussion of the do's
and don'ts?

Charleston, SC 2000
I had a chance to meet up with Melody Skye (from my TGNI days)
so I took it.
-
January
2001
The week was to be luncheons with friends and
coworkers, each with Davita. Monday was just a
prepatory day and Friday was to be a face-recovery
day. I am still learning, even during this week.

April

April 2001 was a good time to be a girl *smile* The
weather seemed perfect.
-
May/June
2001
Out locally and then in Atlanta.

A Status Check in April 2002
I was out the 3rd through the 5th this month. No
pictures-sorry; no new outfits *smile* Anyway, I had my
usual chores lined up and friends to meet. Three
significant events this time. I actually had a man ask
me to call him if I planned on having any more lunches
alone. Does this mean I passed or was this guy just
nuts? I think the latter myself. The second event was
my pharmacists met Davita for the first time. She
didn't blink. She hadn't even been told about me, but
seemed comfortable. Last, a fairly new acquaintance who
knew about me finally met Davita, Friday. Our mutual
friend had invited him to lunch and said I was going to
be there, but didn't tell him it was Davita. He was
obviously flustered, but not upset. By the end of the
lunch, he could actually get my nickname, D, straight.
I tell first-timers just call me "D" to help reduce the
confusion.

November and December 2004
This is just a summary since I was just out and about
-- nothing special. I had my usual shopping chores, some
lunch dates and some general walking about. I think what
has finally happened to me is that there is some normalcy
to Davita. She may be less of a tourist and is becoming
just an everyday person. There were no big events, no
real new lessons learned, had a couple new introductions,
and no real problems to conquer. I did learn one thing or
should I say the lesson finally sunk in. Do not over do
the makeup! *giggle* Look at my blush in this
November picture. I got two answers when
I asked if it was too much. The younger said it was fine,
the older person said "too much." On Tuesday in my December
outings, I surprised an Origins counter lady. We were talking
what makeup I used and she got around to asking how I apply my
foundation. I said with my finger and she puzzled back with,
"what's your foundation?" When I told her Dermablend, she got that
light bulb over her head glowing real bright. "Ohhh, I didn't
realize. You did great!" So again, don't over do the makeup! And,
a little note -- try to see your foundation in natural light
before you go any further. The natural light helps show if you
have it applied evenly or better, blended the way you intended. My
Dermablend is not applied the same thickness but is blended to
match my complexion and need for more coverage in spots.
There was one change in my routine. Nora came down from
up north. She and I met up after my lunch date and we went
mall walking. We popped into various stores and chatted with
the sales staffs. I was trying to get perfume samples (it's a
hobby) and we were both doing a little Christmas shopping. We
talked a kiosk person into selling me a couple toys at half
price. I don't think he knew either of us were T-girls. Like I
said, nothing eventful -- just nice times out.

January 2005
Always a lesson learned in these outings.
-
Los Angeles and Flying on Halloween 2005
It took introducing a new employee of the office to Davita,
in record time.
Thank goodness it all worked out. Although Davita had attended a
conference before,
this was still a new experience.
-
January 2006
Surprise! I got jeans! I also found boots that met my criteria
after searching
for a couple of years.
-
March 2006
Pictures are posted in Evolution
and the Poufbunny set in
Flickr.
The pictures' names are their dates.
-
Halloween 2006 and later
This is a bit of catching up. I was out later in January 2007.
This Halloween was
memorable and I wanted to share. I opted to donate platelets (see
Apheresis).
-
August 2007 Catch Up
I needed to catch up. This has my latest outing's pictures for
August. I am also taking this moment to catch up on my lessons learned.
Even though my days have been
uneventful for the most part, I did learn a few things along the way.
-
Halloween 2008
Ahhhhhh Halloween -- when this princess can let her
inner queen come out. This was
a great Halloween. I had a fun costume and
in the process, I learned a lesson or two.
-
April 2009
Was not a particularly special time out, but
a fun one. Learned a bit so
I thought I should write it up.
-
After April 2009
Life is good. April wasn't my last
time out. It's just that I get out enough now that it's common
place. There hasn't been anything truly significant to add for
lesson learned except what I am learning about my friends and the
other people I know. It's gotten to the point that I can't say if
I pass or not because too many people know both of me. In
addition, at this point, I'm not going to ask a stranger if I pass
because if I do, I blew that didn't I?
-
July 2010
I had four good days out en fem. Took
the last Wednesday through Friday
at end of the month and the Monday. I had a coming out on Thursday.
-
December 2010 (and all time after July)
It's been a good time, but uneventful. Got pictures posted on Flickr. Just watch for the descriptions and dates.
-
March 2011
It was too long for this outing, but I
finally got out. I planned on just girls' nights, but lunches with any of my friends. I let a couple
more folks into my circle too. I also opened up to conversations with strangers.
-
June 2011
I had a good time. Jamie from PA came down for two days and we met up with friends of mine that she had met
before. I had a coming out that was uneventful -- yet another person in my circle. Awhile back I had promised a sales
lady that I would show up en fem. I finally did it. She was surprised because I didn't announce myself; I let her
figure it out. She was very complimentary. I have pictures posted on Flickr; watch for the descriptions and dates.
Since this is a late write-up, I have since had another coming out. This time it was with my orthopedist. I
needed to talk to him about the trouble I had on one of my days out. I had worn some really cute but high heels. It
seemed my left ankle was having troubles with keeping straight up. At first I thought my shoe had broken. I had to
take them off because I was having too much trouble walking without trying to fall off my heels. I compared the
shoes and found it was me that was the problem. So I had to explain what was going on so I could get my doctor's
opinion. We didn't have a good answer, but we will just need to see what is going on in the future. As for the
doc, sadly, he asked if I had been a woman. Darn. he and I will have further talks I'm sure.
-
August 2011
This is just a quickie. I was out in August in time for a coming out to one of
my w**k team mates. When I was in Brookhaven, I had come out to one of the other team mates. She and I kind of
plotted this surprise on the other. So the stage was set to meet at my beer hangout. The victim likes the place
too. I was sitting and waiting when the girl came in first, basically hiding me from the victim. I got up and
gave her a hug all the while the victim was looking around for me. The girl and I finished our hug and she
stepped aside putting me face to face with almost a foot between us. The victim got a big smile and hugged me.
Life is good. I have just one of my pictures posted from August. It was my Red Cross donation day. My victim took a few of me and I just
haven't posted them. I told him he could share with his boss because she already knows. Later in the week,
she and I were talking about my pictures and which she liked from the week.

Halloween 2011
I had a good time, but not as many days as I had expected. My shoulder
surgery cut into a couple of my days.
